Quoting: pleasereadthemanualHasn't Microsoft Office worked in Wine for a long time?
It did but older versions only, Office 365 is always the latest iirc.

What? This is huge! Did CodeWeavers just nuke one of the largest blockers of Linux adoption? The branch of Wine used by Crossover is open source, I am sure someone will find a way to replicate this without CrossOver.
Hasn't Microsoft Office worked in Wine for a long time? I used it two years ago with CrossOver. It was finicky, but it worked.

Quoting: constwipeout hd/fury for PS3 has become my wipeout of choice. Is any of the available clones close to that gameplay feel?

Nope, none. BallisticNG, Pacer, Redout, none of them even come close to how great Pulse/HD feels. Not even with BallisticNG's other handling types.

I've been playing every game in the WipEout series since the first game as a kid, and HD/2048's feel are my favourites. They just improved with every entry.

RIP Psygnosis 🫡 Sony did em dirty.

Cross-saves might be happening too. If so, then I'll double dip on Steam.

Yeah. Paradox games get great support but a flurry of DLC I can never keep up with
Still doesn't leave you with any less game than you would have had if the DLC weren't published. I mean, the game already exists; they probably aren't going to yank bits out of it and repackage them as DLC.

Neither does I, so game purchase exist no.

( In my best impersonation of a cave troll :-)

P.S. I should also say that's an interesting concept. Imagine where that could take RPG type games. For one example, I've often hated the limited responses and choices available. "I'd never say THAT" etc. and I often thought that even if they could humour me (whether it affects outcome or not) it would help with the immersion. For example input could be evaluated to be a favourable choice, or a hostile choice and the NPC could react accordingly.

I got 9 hours on this game, and yeah it's pretty kickass, especially for a marble nerd like me -- obviously Marble Gold is kind of legendary -- this game is well worth the play -- especially on steam deck.

Funny enough the name "Karai" means "d--c" in pt_BR, in an exclamatory way...

When you are impressed or surprised by something, "Karai," is the word to use.

Heroes of Might and Magic III game engine VCMI 1.3 out now
By chr, 17 August 2023 at 2:02 pm UTC

Quoting: Cyril
Quoting: officerniceOhh nice, did not know this existed. Is it better than running the game via Lutris and the community HD upgrade?
For me: yes! Because it's not just an HD/graphical upgrade, it has a tons of upgrades of gameplay/interface etc (and it's native!).
Running the original game via Lutris will always be the same, there is no update of it.
Meanwhile VCMI is updated frequently and so is better every day!

Sorry, but I'm in love with this project, do what you want from what I'm saying.
Just try it.
That said, I was not using the HD patch when I was playing the game with Wine, but since some releases of VCMI I only play it through it and didn't launch the Wine version since then.

The HD community patch also has some QoL features added.

Quoting: neolith
Quoting: win8linuxIt ensures that the background source file remains accessible for a long time and by coincidence, also filters out any AI-generated submissions. I say coincidence since this requirement has existed for a very long time with open art contributions, well before so-called AI-generated or rather ML-backed image generation entered widespread knowledge.
Oh, I get that the source files should be provided. I am for that for the very reasons you mentioned.

But that wasn't the point I was trying to make.
The rules state that the source files have to be in a non-proprietary format – and that is simply impossible for many software packages one might choose. For example if you were to create your art in Maya, your source files won't be in a non-proprietary format. Same if you choose... say... DPaint on the Amiga for some stylistic reasons. According to the rules you are now excluded from entering.

I think it shouldn't matter what you create your art with.

As I understand you can either use proprietary software and export in a non-proprietary format (e.g. .blend from Maya) OR
import the proprietary file into a non-proprietary app and convert it there (open a Maya file in Blender, then convert/save).

Apparently the mobile app also now has the slogan "Blaze Your Glory!", which has a real childish-early-2000s-tryhard-wannabe twang to it.

I feel corporations are hijacking our language. E.g. I frequently have to clarify what I mean or play around with context when using the words ex, meta, or apple. I am forced to think about those brands orders of magnitude more than I would otherwise. The trick is working. I much prefer names like Facebook, SpaceX, Microsoft, Starbucks, Nestle, or Mazda. I hope I EU will have some regulations about brand names one day...
