Freebird Games have revealed a brand new trailer for To the Moon - Beach Episode, the next is the series of this 2D RPG adventure and there's even going to be a real-life card game.

The description is as confusing as always to not give away any real details of the game:

The Beach Episode(TM) of To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory.

Or is it?

...Yes, it technically is. Just A To the Moon Series Beach Episode is just that: A To the Moon series beach episode.

Get ready for a new short adventure as the SigCorp. crew takes off to an all-expenses-paid vacation at the Golden Lobster Hotel & Resort! For a grand total of 1 day, which is apparently the most the company was willing to fork out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Join familiar faces from To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory in this narrative adventure filled with mini-games of varying elements, mysteries and relaxation, as well as--

...Wait, most of the characters here should already be dead.

The feature list is also amusingly unhelpful noting it has:

  • A beach
  • An episode
  • A cozy mix between adventure game elements and classic RPG aesthetics
  • Dialogues that read so wrong but feel so right
  • Platplat the platypus
  • Rudog
  • Long-cat & Ricebot(?)

Okay then.

What's not clear right now is if it will have Native Linux support like their previous games, as it only notes Windows in the system requirements on Steam currently - so you might have to run this one through Proton / WINE. You can follow it on Steam for whenever it releases (sometime this year).

On top of that there's also going to be a card game, which is crowdfunding on Kickstarter. As expected for this popular series, the funding is way over the goal at around £75,218 / £29,167 and it ticks up a little every time I scroll back to it.
